Do you have scrap metal in Almere? If so, we’ll pick it up for you. A container or pallet box will be delivered to your property within 24 hours, and pickup is free for loads of 1,000 kg or more. You’ll receive a quote in advance and a weigh slip afterward, so you can see exactly how much your shipment was worth.
Krommenhoek Metals has been in the metal recycling business since 1925. We don’t have a drop-off location in Almere, and we don’t need one: our pickup service covers the entire Netherlands. If you’d rather drop off your items yourself, you can do so at our drop-off locations.

Most trips in Almere are to businesses and construction sites. De Vaart in Almere Buiten is the city’s oldest and largest industrial park. It is home to many manufacturing and industrial companies, where scrap metal is often a regular waste stream: offcuts, turnings, discarded machinery, and old shelving. We also make stops at Stichtsekant in Almere Hout and at construction sites throughout the city.
We pick up from the following locations, among others:
Do you generate metal waste year-round? If so, we can leave a container on-site permanently. Once it’s full, we’ll replace it.
Scrap metal is any iron or steel that you no longer use. When weighing it, we do make a distinction, because not every type has the same price per kilogram. Clean, sorted scrap metal yields a higher price than a mixed pile. The better you sort it beforehand, the clearer your weigh slip will be.
| Type | Examples | Why Keep Them Separate |
| Scrap metal | radiators, steel profiles, fencing, structural steel | Rough and heavy—the foundation of most parties |
| Iron grit | small scraps from the workshop, mixed scrap, small pieces of steel from demolition | finer fraction, is weighed as a separate grade |
| Iron Turnings | turnings and chips from metalworking | Loose and light—doesn't belong among the heavy iron |
| Electric Motors | motors from machines, pumps, and fans | contain copper and have their own price per kilogram |
In addition to iron, we also accept copper, aluminum, brass, zinc, stainless steel, cable, and batteries. These are worth significantly more per kilogram than iron, so please keep them separate. Old equipment with circuit boards is part of our electronics recycling program. Not sure about a particular batch? Send us a photo via WhatsApp, and we’ll let you know in advance what we can do with it.

Send us a few photos of your shipment and your ZIP code. Based on that, we’ll send you a quote so you know exactly what to expect in advance. Our driver will arrive with a crane truck and load everything himself. You won’t have to lift a thing.
Next, we weigh your metal by type. The weigh slip shows the weight and the price we used, so you can see how the total amount was calculated. You’ll receive the payment via bank transfer. If your total is less than 1,000 kg, we’ll deduct the transportation costs from the proceeds. So you never have to pay in advance.

Krommenhoek Metals picks up scrap metal from businesses and construction sites throughout Almere, from De Vaart to Stichtsekant. Pickup is free for loads of 1,000 kg or more. For loads under that amount, we charge a transportation fee, which we deduct from the proceeds.
That depends on the type and the daily price. Coarse, clean iron fetches a higher price than scrap metal or turnings. The price per type is listed in our current scrap metal prices, which we update daily.
Anything made of iron or steel: radiators, fencing, metal profiles, machinery, tools, and scrap from the workshop. The table above shows which types we weigh separately.
If you're placing the container on your own property or at a construction site, you can handle that yourself. If you want to place the container on a public road, you'll usually need permission from the city. Check with the City of Almere before you order the container.
