What do you get in exchange for your old catalytic converters?

A catalytic converter is worth much more than most people realize. Its ceramic core contains platinum, palladium, and rhodium—three of the most expensive precious metals in the world. The price depends heavily on the type of vehicle, its age, the serial number on the housing, and the actual precious metal content. At Krommenhoek Metals, you won’t receive a blind purchase price, but a fair price based on spectral (XRF) analysis. For larger batches, we perform the measurement on-site, so you can see the actual value in real time. Always request a quote based on your catalytic converter’s serial number.

Everything About Catalytic Converter Prices

Catalytic Converter Price

At KH Metals, we offer a fair price for catalytic converters. Catalytic converters contain valuable precious metals such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium, which can be recovered and recycled. By turning in your old catalytic converter to us, you’ll not only get a good price, but you’ll also be contributing to a more sustainable future because we recycle your old catalytic converter.

What makes a catalytic converter valuable?

A catalytic converter is an important component of a vehicle’s exhaust system. It helps convert harmful exhaust gases into less harmful substances before they reach the atmosphere. Because catalytic converters contain precious metals, such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium, they are very valuable. These metals are scarce and are widely used in various industries, such as the automotive and electronics industries. By recycling these metals from the catalytic converter, you reduce the need for new raw materials and contribute to a circular economy.

How to Turn In Your Catalytic Converters

Do you have a loose catalytic converter from a DIY car repair? Bring it to one of our locations in Rotterdam or Wateringen. Send a photo of the serial number via WhatsApp beforehand, and you’ll receive an immediate price estimate. We offer spectral analysis free of charge, even for just a few pieces.

For garages, auto salvage yards, and other businesses with a regular supply of scrap, we arrange fixed arrangements: on-site container service, periodic pickup, or drop-off whenever it’s convenient for you. For quantities of 50 or more, we’ll come to your location with our XRF meter to immediately determine the actual platinum, palladium, and rhodium content. No estimated prices, no vague abbreviations on the receipt—only the actual precious metal content counts.
