Hastelloy Price
Hastelloy is named after its discoverer, Mr. Haynes. Mr. Haynes’s company is perhaps better known: Haynes International. Haynes International also produces alloys of the same name, such as Haynes 556 and Haynes 718. Hastelloy belongs to the nickel alloy group and is also referred to as a superalloy. Like Nimonic, Hastelloy performs very well under high-temperature conditions and is highly resistant to corrosion. Nimonic, for example, is widely used in gas turbines and aircraft components. It was used, for instance, in the supersonic aircraft, the Concorde.
Walspoloy also belongs to this group of high-alloy metals. The price of Hastelloy scrap depends on the content of the various metals in the alloy. For example, the scrap price of Hastelloy C276 is very high due to the presence of expensive elements such as nickel, molybdenum, tungsten, and cobalt.
There are many different types of Hastelloy with a wide range of alloy compositions. For example, Hastelloy B2 contains 28% molybdenum and 1% each of cobalt and chromium. The remaining 65% is nickel, along with a few byproducts. Hastelloy G-30 contains 2.5% cobalt, 30% chromium, 5.5% molybdenum, 2.5% tungsten, 15% iron, and the rest is nickel.
