Titanium Price
One of titanium’s properties is that it is very light. It is also very strong and corrosion-resistant. Titanium can be easily recycled by remelting it into titanium rods or blocks. Titanium’s melting point is 1,940 degrees Celsius (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Titanium), so melting it requires a great deal of energy.
Don't have access to professional analytical equipment but want to quickly and easily check whether you might be dealing with titanium? Then use an angle grinder to grind the surface of your product. If a shower of white sparks is produced, it is usually titanium.
Titanium is highly resistant to both saltwater and freshwater. As a result, we frequently see it used in water-related applications. In addition, titanium is used in the aviation industry, particularly in aircraft engines and aircraft components. It is also used in the petrochemical industry. One of the most commonly used titanium alloys in these industries is Ti6Al4V or Ti-6Al-4V. This is sometimes referred to as titanium grade 5. This means that the titanium alloy contains 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium, and a maximum of 0.25% iron. The rest is, of course, titanium. Another common alloy is titanium grade 9, which is primarily used in aircraft piping and is more weldable than grade 5. The alloy consists of 94.5% titanium, 3% aluminum, and 2.5% vanadium.
Titanium is also used for prosthetics in the human body. This is because the body does not reject titanium. In addition to the Ti6Al4V ELI alloy (Grade 23), the Ti6Al7Nb alloy is also used. In addition to titanium, this alloy contains 6% aluminum and 7% niobium. The addition of niobium proved to be less toxic to cells. Titanium is not a precious metal and does not have the value of gold or other precious metals, so a titanium prosthesis should not be removed from the body for financial gain.
The price of titanium depends on the alloy and on market supply and demand. There is no fixed metal price for it. So how much is titanium worth? The price per kilogram of titanium is generally higher than that of stainless steel.
Given the wide variety of titanium alloys, it is therefore important to always perform an exact analysis when purchasing titanium.
